Santa Cruz County is facing both tremendous opportunities and challenges. We have a chance to enact policies that will make our streets and neighborhoods safer, preserve our amazing parks and open space, and create good jobs. 

My experience as a Mayor and Councilmember, an entrepreneur and as someone who was born and raised in this community give me the perspective and experience to work with all sectors of the community to solve our problems. Santa Cruz County is one of the most beautiful and innovative places in the world. We need to utilize these strengths to find smart solutions to our challenges.

 

We must ensure that our community is environmentally, economically, and culturally sustainable not just for the next four years, but for the next forty. This will require much work by the Board and the community, but I believe that we are up to the task.
